Podiatry
CureSpa offers a professional podiatry and chiropody service from our state of the art clinic in Dublin 14. With decades of experience, we ensure a professional, effective, and friendly service to each and every client that comes through our door. Inspired by innovation, we use the latest techniques and equipment in all of our podiatry services to provide effective and long-lasting results, no matter what your concern. From fungal nail infections to flat feet and bunions, we can treat any issues relating to the foot and nail.
Flat Feet
When your footfall is off, it can cause a big problem as it can cause affect both the forefoot and the rear foot. It can also cause knee pain and sometimes hip pain. By simply changing the Mechanics of the foot we are often able to have a positive impact on knee pain and hip pain. Sometimes we need to provide an anaesthetic to help change the mechanics and sometimes we don’t. Some of the best athletes in the world have flat feet and it’s perfectly normal for them. Pain management clinics use 635 NM of red frequency laser light to alleviate foot pain.
Bunion Treatment
There are two types of bunions that one can get on the feet. One of the more common ones is on the inside at the ball of the foot – you can also get a bunion on the outside of the foot which is called a tailors bunion. At CureSpa we have multiple approaches to treating bunions. Foot mobilisation techniques work particularly well to restore movement at the bunion site. The pain management clinics in conjunction with foot mobilisation techniques work particularly well also. We also work very closely with foot and ankle trauma surgeons in the sports clinic in Santry and in Bon Secours Hospital Glasnevin. Bunion surgery has come on leaps and bounds in the last number of years and we work with some of the best surgeons in the country to help alleviate your symptoms.
Custom Orthotics
At CureSpa in Goatstown, we manufacture all of our orthotics on-site. Not everybody can wait 10 days two weeks to have orthotics manufactured. At CureSpa in Goatstown we have the facilities to be able to assess a patient, take a cast of the foot if necessary and manufacture an orthotic within 1 hour. Because we do not use an external laboratory for manufacturing orthotics, the patient can save a considerable amount of money on the device. The orthotics from CureSpa are designed to fit into the vast majority of shoes on the market today.
Diabetic Foot Care
Diabetes and foot care go hand in hand. If you are a diabetic should have your feet checked at least once a year by a podiatrist. If you are unfortunate enough to develop neuropathy (inability to detect pain and light touch) you should have your nails cut regularly by a professional. At CureSpa, we have a medical nail therapist as well as a professional podiatrist on-site every day to attend to our Diabetic clients. We also have a wound management clinic to effectively treat clients that have developed ulceration on their feet.
Nail Surgery
At CureSpa in Goatstown we have the facilities on site to be able to take care of nail conditions surgically. This usually requires the administration of a local anaesthetic and removal of a painful spot or ingrown toenail. After this surgery, a strong acid can be applied to the nail matrix to prevent regrowth. This clinical acid stays in contact with the skin for a number of weeks after which the toe will heal naturally.
Verrucae
Verrucae can be very challenging to treat within the clinical setting. Here at CureSpa, we offer a range of treatments for clients suffering from verrucae. Because other nail salons are unable to detect diagnosed conditions they, unfortunately, go on for a long time. Verrucae are easily contracted and are very contagious. At CureSpa we have different types of treatment depending on the type of verruca. We use strong acids, laser treatments, and surgical removal of verrucae when necessary to ensure that they don’t return.
Nail Bracing
Not everybody is a suitable candidate for nail surgery. At CureSpa we are the only clinic in the country that specialises in nail bracing with nail reconstruction. Nail bracing consists of the podiatrist or the medical nail technician inserting a thin wire under the nail that guides the ingrown toenail in a more healthy direction to relieve pain and stop the nail from ingrowing. Clients and patients often get immediate relief as soon as the brace is inserted.
Foot Manipulation Therapy
Foot Manipulation Therapy has gained popularity over the last number of years and has been extremely effective in improving movement in clients. Foot Manipulation Therapy is a technique where the podiatrist can move stuck or restricted joints. The podiatrist uses controlled and gentle thrusts to restore movement and reduce pain. The technique would be used for patients who do not want to use orthotics or who do not have enough room in their shoes to accommodate an orthotic.
Clinical Pedicure
At CureSpa, we are proud to announce that we are the only clinic and spa the country to have medical nail technicians working with us.
Medical nail technicians can manage the most difficult and painful toenails, reduce some of the toughest skin on the heel and the ball of the foot. Our medical nail technicians can advise you for many conditions that affect the feet and hands. At CureSpa we have three amazing medical pedicures to choose from, treating a range of different foot and nail conditions.
Lunula® Laser System
Lunula Laser® is a revolutionary, low-level laser therapy treatment bringing new hope to people suffering from the painful, discoloured, and disfigured toenails associated with onychomycosis or nail fungus. Unlike other podiatry treatments, Lunula Laser® promises no pain, no risk and no downtime and is the easy, convenient way to experience healthy, clear nails again.
How it works
The Lunula Laser targets the fungus that lives in and under the toenail. The laser light passes through the nail without causing damage to it or the surrounding skin. Incredibly, Lunula Laser® poses none of the risk and harmful side effects of oral anti-fungal medications. Plus, this convenient in-office procedure typically takes only minutes to perform, with absolutely no recovery time required. Oftentimes, as little as four 12-minute sessions are needed to treat the affected area.
